Andrew Keenan-Bolger cast in untitled Hugh Grant and Marisa Tomei film

Following his final exit from the role of Crutchie in Newsies last Sunday, Andrew Keenan-Bolger’s “spring has just gotten a lot cooler” as he recently tweeted, announcing publicly that he is making an exciting leap from stage to film as “a lead in the new Hugh Grant/Marisa Tomei film!”

The film is a currently untitled romantic comedy written and directed by Marc Lawrence and places Andrew onscreen alongside Hollywood veterans Hugh Grant and Marisa Tomei.

Andrew’s announcement comes on the heels of his casting as Jesse Tuck in a musical adaptation of Tuck Everlasting, which begins in Boston this July, and heralds an exciting new development in Andrew’s career.

The jump from stage onto film is often a major one but I have every faith Andrew will be successful.

The film does not yet have a release date; filming will begin in New York this April.
