Graceland: Charlie’s high, Johnny (almost) blows up, and Briggs gets punched in the face in “Hair of the Dog”

So a lot of crazy, I mean truly crazy, events happened in tonight’s episode of Graceland, leaving me emotionally and physically exhausted.  It also kind of blew my mind, and I am (yet again) in awe of this show.  I’m going to take the opportunity to rank my top 5 “whaaaaat?!” moments from the episode.  If you haven’t watched it yet, beware of spoilers!

5.  Surprise!  Johnny is actually really awesome!  Ok so this isn’t really a surprise, but we did find out that Johnny was a Navy diver which automatically gives him extra cool points.  He also covered for Charlie when she showed up to the bureau high and trying to recover from her previously failed case.  I’m really glad he was front and center during this episode.  It’s about time.

4.  Johnny blew up!!!  Or so we thought.  Did anyone else’s breath hitch when the torpedo blew up?  I went through a solid minute of “They couldn’t kill him… could they?  No… no they couldn’t.  Or they could’ve.”  It was killing me!  I don’t know who was happier to see Johnny after that happened, Mike or me.  Sigh of relief from this girl right here.  I may have even squealed and applauded a little.  Ok, a lot.

3.  Bello planned to kill Johnny when he recovered the drugs for him.  I mean… I know Bello is a hardened criminal of the worst kind, but there’s something about him that I really want to be… not necessarily a good guy, but maybe not as bad as we thought he was.  Is it odd to say that since Mike has been hanging around with Bello and bonding over Westerns and whatnot that I may have begun to forget that he’s a seriously dangerous dude?  I almost felt sorry for him, even started to like him… until he threatened to kill Johnny of course.

2.  Mike punches Briggs right in the kisser.  Go, Mike, go!  It’s about time someone let him have it.  I love Briggs, I really do.  He seems to genuinely care about Charlie and he has his sweet moments, but there have been a few times that I wanted to punch the daylights out of him myself.  I’m glad Mike did it for me.

1.  Briggs is a heroin addict.  Seriously?!  I wanted to believe so badly that the bureau has it out for him and that he’s not actually stealing drugs from their recoveries, but now I may believe them.  He was so incredibly nonchalant about letting Bello go, and he took possession of the heroin found in the torpedo.  Unless… unless Briggs knows that Mike is on to him and only wants him to think he’s a drug addict.  I don’t really know why he would want that, but for some reason his face didn’t look all that surprised when he spotted Mike creeping in on his Narcotics Anonymous meeting.  I thought for a quick second when we found out that Briggs took the heroin that he may be working with Bello, and not against him.  But, when Mike followed him to the meeting that blew my theory out of the water.

On top of my “whaaaat?!” moments, I have to say that I really think there’s something going on with everyone in this house besides Mike.  They all seem to know something that he doesn’t, and it really irritates me.  In a good way, of course.  Although, he knows something they don’t as well.  I don’t know why, but I feel like this whole Graceland household set-up is some kind of conspiracy.  I’m not sure what kind of conspiracy it is yet.  My theory is flawed and I’m horrible at predicting television shows, but it seems to be Mike against the rest of the house.  Why else would they always opt to keep him out of the loop?  Hopefully, we’ll begin to get some answers in next week’s episode.

One more thing, where has Dale Jakes been for the past two weeks?  I’m missing his subtly snarky comments!

What was your top “whaaaat?!” moment from tonight’s episode?  Leave a comment and let me know!  And don’t forget to tune in for an all-new episode of Graceland on USA next Thursday at 10pm.
