Miki’s Artwork: A glimpse into the fragile world of Laura Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie

Celia Keenan-Bolger plays the catatonically shy Laura Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie and has been amply praised by critics and audiences alike for her riveting, heart-wrenching performance. After spending the winter months performing at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, Mass., the production began previews on Broadway at the Booth Theatre on Sept. 5. With glowing reviews not only for Celia but for her three co-stars (Zachary Quinto who plays Tom, Cherry Jones who plays the matriarch Amanda Wingfield, and Brian J. Smith who plays Jim O’Connor/The Gentleman Caller) there’s no question that this revival of Tennessee Williams’s first Broadway play is reaching into the hearts and minds of its audiences. In this painting Miki recreates one of the more uplifting moments in the play in which Laura reminisces over her high school yearbook with her mother.
