Stage Door Dish is seeking photographers, videographers, social media experts and more!

Stage Door Dish is looking to add to our strong team! Below are some descriptions for the positions we are looking to fill but if you have an alternative idea for something you want to offer the site, please send an email and if it sounds like a good fit then I will be in touch.

Administrative Assistants

Description: Administrative assistants assist with the duties of the Communications Director, transcribe audio tape for interviews and fulfill various other tasks. No two days are ever the same for our admin team.

Requirements: Strong organizational and communications skills, the ability to multitask and complete projects on deadline.

Editorial and Reporting Interns

Description: Editorial and reporting interns are expected to come up with story ideas, seek out the news and find angles to write about current events within the Broadway community. Editorial interns will also have opportunities to edit and work with reporting interns to enhance stories and offer feedback. Highly motivated or skilled interns may be offered staff positions.

Requirements: Past published writing, editorial experience, (some) college education and enthusiasm for journalism and Broadway. West End writers are also encouraged to apply. It is also extremely important that interns are comfortable chatting with Broadway talent on a professional level. Fangirls and fanboys need not apply.

Photographers

Description: The photographers will attend interviews with reporters and events for coverage. They are expected to turn in assignments on deadline and write detailed tag lines including identifiers for all photo subjects. Creativity and innovation with photographing are also encouraged.

Requirements: Must be proficient in digital photography and photo editing, exercise comfortability approaching strangers and stars, a [reasonably] flexible schedule to fulfill job requirements and attend events. Strongly recommended photographers have their own reliable equipment but exceptions may be made on a rare occasion. Must be in New York City or be able to commute frequently.

Promotions Manager

Description: Stage Door Dish is very blessed to have some wonderful connections with theatres, shows and venues that would like us to promote their talent. The promotions manager will work to secure giveaways, coordinate press opportunities and will be expected to complete various other tasks. More information will be provided to qualified applicants.

Requirements: An outgoing and ambitious personality, strong organizational and critical thinking skills, an understanding of the business side of Broadway and theatre.

Social Media Manager

Description: Love Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook? The social media manager will work closely with Samantha to make sure the social media pages aren’t only updated regularly with the latest news and articles on the site but they will be encouraged to connect with the readership, host games and contests and be one of the leading voices of Stage Door Dish.

Requirements: A mastery of the English language (if you are representing the site you will be expected to spell and use correct grammar) and all social media platforms, an appreciation and understanding of Broadway and the latest happenings within the community and ideas for ways the site can continue to “bridge the gap.” More information will be supplied to qualified candidates.

Videographers

Description: The videographers will record interviews with reporters, attend events for film coverage and are expected to turn in assignments on deadline. Creativity and innovation with filming are also encouraged.

Requirements: Must be proficient in video recording and editing, exercise comfortability approaching strangers and stars, a [reasonably] flexible schedule to fulfill job requirements and attend events. Strongly recommended videographers have their own reliable equipment but exceptions may be made on a rare occasion. Must be in New York City or be able to commute frequently.
