The curious disappearance of ‘Les Miserables’ actor Hugh Skinner

Where in the world is Hugh Skinner?

Shortly after the Les Miserables world premiere in London on December 6, the British actor who played Joly in Tom Hooper’s Academy Award-winning film seemed to disappear without a trace.

He wasn’t seen at any of the following premieres and he didn’t call, tweet or send a smoke signal notifying his many fans that he was alive and well.

His fellow Barricade Boys didn’t mention him on Twitter and many were left wondering if Hugh was simply imagined.

But on Wednesday, March 20, Hugh appeared at a showcase held at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and performed a scene from one of the featured writer’s shows. So, at least, we know Hugh is still existing somewhere in the world.

Maybe.

The only proof of Hugh’s appearance is on said writer’s Twitter page, there’s nothing mentioned of the showcase on the RADA website, and although there’s a photo of the writer with Hugh, Photoshop works wonders.

So where is Hugh Skinner? It seems the answer to that is more complicated than George Blagden trying to navigate his way through the US.
